The beliefs of São Tomé and Príncipe form a rich tapestry of religious, spiritual, and cultural traditions that reflect African, European (primarily Portuguese), and Afro-Brazilian influences.
Catholicism: This is the country’s predominant religion, a legacy of Portuguese colonization. Saints’ days, processions, and Church celebrations play a major role in community life.
